Of course the question arises, if you can instantly get to the other side of the planet, where exactly can you go to hide from birds?

I suppose that saving the world now means that they have to find Nemo as well...?

Either that or a quad 40mm Bofors with a trainload of 3P ammunition, though something tells me that John has something a little more eloquent planned.

So if Daniel swims up does he go back through the door and go back into the air? Will this be like a game of "Portal".

Ha ha, not quite. There are natural corrections that won't allow for infinite loops. For instance, Daniel won't arrive in the ocean only to float back up through the portal again, where he arrives in mid-air (floating upwards) and subsequently falls back through the portal to end up in the water again. |
|
I kind of figured that. It seems thus far that they can only go one way through a "door". Once they are through, they can't go right back. Much like how if you touch a wet spot on a napkin to a dry spot on a napkin the water can only go from the wet spot to the dry spot. Once it has moved to the dry spot it can't go back to the wet spot. You can only go "back" to the original "spot" once it has "dried out", implying some sort of "cooling off" period.
Is this a somewhat accurate description of how thing are working?

Yea, I know how being distracted by other projects can make things take forever to get done, I still don't have my diesel generator put together, though I did get the rotor mounted after some quality time with a wrench and a rubber mallet. (Now I bet your imaginations are running wild as to what that entailed. ) Have to get the garage cleaned out too so I can get my friends car put in the other stall for the winter and start charging him rent.

I keep wondering to myself if Daniel is "dead" or in a near death situation in the "real world". It would explain the lack of any other people despite having passed through heavily populated areas, the bright light when he arrived. The "800 years old" part makes me hesitate, but I still wonder where this might go.
You've listed some of the ingredients, but I still can't figure out what you're cooking John.
